The difference between Sheer Bikini and See-Through Bikini

Often the term sheer bikini is synonymous with see-thru bikini, but strictly speaking there are some differences.

A sheer bikini, in most instances, means that the fabric is very thin and will reveal the skin when the suit gets wet. In addition, the fabric is usually nylon and Lycra or a combination.

Another important factor to consider is that many sheer bikinis create the illusion of revealing skin underneath the swimsuit, when in reality the manufacturer has used nude-colored fabric to create the sheer effect. So you can“t see the skin in reality.

A see-through bikini, on the other hand, means that you can see through the fabric regardless if the swimwear is wet or dry. Also, the see-through bikini does not use nude-colored fabric as a liner in either the top or bottom pieces of the bikini.

Both types of bikinis are made in solid colors, prints, or stripes. However, if you want every curve, ripple, and nuance to be revealed, whether you’re lying on the beach, or sauntering out of the water, then you should choose a see-thru bikini.
